About the Workshop
International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS), Nepal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (NICS) and Nepal Remote Sensing and Photogrammetric Society (NRSPS) is jointly organizing the international event regarding DRR in relation to Nepal earthquake. It is a joint event of the Commission 2 of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), and Technical Commission IV, Working Group 4 of the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS). This event is being organized at Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu from November 25-27, 2015. The event is also being supported by the Commission 7 of the FIG.Ministry of Land Reform and Management, Survey Department, and Land Management Training Center of the Government of Nepal are the co-organizers of the event.
Main objective of the event is to exploit the international expertise for enhancing professional capacity to contribute in the effort of DRR in the situation like currently in Nepal.The event further aims to explore opportunities for strengthening and promoting good practices in professional geospatial education and advancing SDI concepts and spatially enabled societies.
